Bad credit mortgage lenders have definitely changed their lending practices over the last few years. The most commonly known bad credit lender, Countrywide, was purchased by Bank of America but now Bank of America has tightened up their lending practices so it is not as easy to get a bad credit mortgage. This does not mean that you cannot get a bad credit mortgage from Bank of America but it is definitely much hard than it once was. The one good thing is that your bad credit is not considered so bad anymore because everyone’s credit score has dropped so much.
You have probably seen advertisements for companies offering bad credit mortgage all over the Internet and television. If you are interested in getting a bad credit mortgage, most of the ads for these companies lead to an 800 number where you can speak to a representative. While you may not want to give the representative all of your financial information, it still might be wise to give them a call and ask some questions to see what they can offer you.
