Mortgage Rates Up, Foreclosures Up, Unemployment Up - Has Obama Done Anything?
Since taking over as the President of the United States, President Obama as seen average mortgage rates rise, foreclosures continue higher and the unemployment is trending towards 10% nationally. All of these statistics have seemed to skyrocket since Obama took office. There is no doubt that former President Bush has a lot to do with these scenarios, but shouldn’t we start to see some type of improvement. Not only have we NOT seen improvement, we have seen the downward trend in the economy accelerate.
We keep hearing that things are getting better but what has changed? Are their more jobs out there? Are home prices increasing? Are foreclosures slowing down? No, No, and definitely No! All the government plans to assist in these areas have yet to take effect. We have spent BILLIONS of dollars to try to make things better and it seems they aren’t helping at all. I realize that it will take time and I am going to give that to our president, but right now I am very skeptical.
I do agree that it takes time but some improvement could have been done. Even if it’s about our health care or home foreclosers percentages going down, something should have “changed” by now! Isn’t “change” what america voted for?
This administration has done EXACTLY the opposite of what needs to be done to turn our economy around, and the saddest aspect of that reality is that it has been done on purpose. Creating a “crisis” has allowed for the most sweeping power grab in the history of mankind, something statists could not have achieved through the ballot box. We are at a very dangerous time in our history. Viva la Revolucion!
Its interesting that the “stimulus” that had to be passed ,before anyone could read it,immediately isn’t even being used yet. Last I heard 2% has gone out. It appears the Bush stimulus is working better than the Obama stimulus ,but then Obama has said alot of things, more accountability (signing bills before anyone can really read them, tax dodgers in high office, firing AG’s ,without due review, and when someone complained Obama’s office sent a letter ‘no problem now’ ),keeping lobbyists out of influencing politicians( theres a feeding frenzy going on with lobbyists decending on washington),a 3 TRILLION dollar budget compared to Bushes 2 BILLION. This is the lull before the tidal wave of Obama’s spending hits and we have to pay for it.
Many of us would like to see Obama take fewer trips, spend less money , and do what he is asking us to do -sacrifice and spread the wealth. How much has he spent of our taxpayer money, flying here there, and everywhere? If he feels he must SELL his policies, then do we really need them? Let’s see some REAL non partisan discussions, rather than cramming these bills down our throats.
First we need jobs. Obama should concentrate on this problem first and the economy instead of trying to start a lot but don’t finish nothing. He should cancel all guest worker visas like h1b and l1 and this will open up a lot of jobs for Americans and Permanent Residents. If they grant amnesty to millions of illegals that will really make it hard for Americans to find jobs. Most of those people will go on welfare, get free healthcare.
